Move out of the way, because Morgin Dupont is never afraid to tell you just how it is! With her signature bright red hair, which you can spot from a mile away, and a smile even bigger than her personality, Morgin is a trailblazer not just in the music or trans communities, but for the little kid in us all who cares way too much about what others think. Born and raised in NYC, she reminds us through her work that it's not only okay to be yourself in every room you walk into, but it's also always quality over quantity when it comes to how she chooses to share her energy. A heart of gold and a self-proclaimed goofball, Morgin challenges the norms of what it means to show up and show out, through fearless self-expression, her self-aware comedic timing, and the constant ability to challenge the status quo.
With her highly anticipated second EP, Alchemy, set to release March 13th, 2026, Morgin gets really raw about her journey of reclaiming her identity in a world that continues to misunderstand her. Where her music really begins to shine is in the way she narrates her lived experiences through songwriting, putting aside the glitz and the glam and baring it all for the mic. To Morgin, “Alchemy” means to rewrite the narrative of the traumas that are thrown at her and forge them into something beautiful. Bringing us on a rollercoaster of emotions straight to the dance floor, each song reflects on her confidence, the contradiction of existing as a human being, and the deep awareness of the power that comes from knowing exactly who she is.
A creature of the night, or so others project onto her, Morgin opens up in her first track, “Club Kid Fine”, about her awareness of how the world views her, and what it means to be labeled a freak. This title becomes a sort of armor through her own reclamation, not something to run from, but instead, wearing it as a crown fit for a queen. Breaking free from the shadows, she takes her power back in this fun, upbeat, 80’s synth style track, creating the perfect duality of wanting to get your groove on and feeling the tears well up just behind your eyes as you dance the night away under the spinning disco ball with a smile on your face.
In “Yin Yang”, Morgin strips back the narrative that there is wrong or right when learning how to navigate through the world as authentically as possible. What others may deem as “too much”– speaking up, living loud, and not being afraid to be judged, becomes the sole contradiction that she shines light on in this internal dialogue. A quite personal self-reflection, this track feels like a page straight out of Morgin’s diary, speaking aloud the contradictions instead of running from them. Noting that life is much more complex than black or white, she names the messiness that is to be human, being proud of everything she is, while putting her wounds up on display for the world to see without shame. She poses the question to her audience: Can you handle me as I am; the good, the bad, the angel, and the demon inside us all?
Closing out the album, “Girl Without A Name” cuts deep. Slowing down the tempo with a ballad showcasing the soft side that comes with the journey of finding oneself, Morgin shares with us the exhaustion of being beaten down, overlooked, and made to feel small by the world around her. Caged by others' insecurities through envy and fear, she goes on to open up about the way her dreams can feel too big for the small minds and closed eyes of those who conform to fit in and lose themselves along the way. There's a quiet loneliness about being seen but not understood, and yet she never asks for pity from anyone. Instead, she reminds us that confidence is not a destination but a daily affirmation to live by.
Alchemy is truly a love letter to oneself. A key to the deepest, most tender thoughts and emotions that come with being a star in a world scared of the vast unknown. Whether it be the constant reminder that there is more under the surface of those who choose to walk the walk and not just talk the talk, Morgin truly allows us to peel back the layers while reminding us that self expression isn't about perfection or performance, but about showing up fully, even when it’s messy, even when it’s brave, and even when the world is still learning how to meet you where you are.
